Introducing the new GroceryBot App!

Hi there - I'm excited to announce that GroceryBot now has an app!

With GroceryBot App, you are able to check your grocery lists for your Discord servers in one-click. No more navigating between Discord servers and channels just to get to your grocery list. Discord is heavy, whereas GroceryBot App is not.

You can install GroceryBot App here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.grocerybot.app.

Read more below.

It also comes with the ability to view your grocery list when you're offline. This is extremely useful for when you need to duck into a supermarket that has terrible signal reception. Combined with our lightweight design, looking at your grocery list is now as simple as, well, looking at your grocery list.

We're currently rolling this out to Android users for free (iOS coming soon!). In the future, we're planning to make features that are exclusive to our Patreon members, so do sign-up to our Patreon and support GroceryBot's development if you like the app!

For iOS users, please sign-up for the waitlist using GroceryBot's /waitlist ios command. We'll only send you an email* (yes, singular) once the app's been released on the App Store.

*Why an email, you ask? Because I don't want to send people DMs through Discord (plus it's against Discord ToS if I remember correctly).

FAQ

Is GroceryBot still free?

GroceryBot on Discord will always be free, and you will always have access to your data. It will always be maintained, because frankly the maintenance cost is near-zero anyways (at one point, GroceryBot was running for 2 years without any restarts or manual interventions).

So, will the app change anything?

No. I'm currently testing various ways that I can add value to everyone. I'd like to make sure that the things that I'm building in the future are things people find useful enough that they'd pay for it.

Since GroceryBot has reached the "currently in 900+ servers" milestone, it means that 900+ people have - at one point in time - thought GroceryBot is a useful addition to their lives. I'd like to expand on that, and I'd like to do it sustainably.

I have feedback about the app, where do I go?

You can head to our support server here. We'd love to hear from you, or how we can improve your experience of using the app and the bot.

Why no iOS?

I'm strapped for cash 😂

On a serious note: I don't know if the app is something people are interested in, so I chose to not pay $99 for Apple Developer Program unless if I need to.

So please do use /waitlist ios if you're interested in an iOS version - I'd be happy to put it on iOS if enough people sign-up!
